Joanne and I flew this morning - I took a lot of pictures, then when I got tired of taking pictures, I flew. I flew and flew and took some more pictures, then she got jealous and wanted to do either one of the two very cool things I was doing. I wasn't going to hand over either without a fight, but eventually she got the camera. There are some things I just can't give up!

Anyway, many thanks to Joanne for bringing her balloon so I could fly it =)

"Xanadu"

From Launch Site U1

The sky begins to fill up

with many balloons

of all sizes and colors

...and yeah, big brown Marine dogs too

Joanne and I launch in "Xplore"... But you can't see it or us in this picture!

Note the GRASS

Second wave inflates

Perfectly groomed...

...Rows

The cow had a bit too much Bacardi the night before

Looking back on the launch field... This isn't the last we'll see of it today

I'm sure they planned months in advance to water these fields at this exact time so no balloons could land in there!

Keith & Tina Reeves at the South target in "SkyAngel"

Yet another balloon shot

A phone booth from Germany - I'm guessing it's a Schroeder Fire Balloon

Looking down at one of the three targets in the RV park

New Horizon 69k from Aerostar

Looking North as we gain altitude to head back North

GRASS!!!

Lots of Green Grass!

Dirt.

More grass, and dirt for added southwest flavor.

The airspace seems to have gotten a little less congested up here

I've run out of comments to use for the grass situation

No, wait, I found one!

You can see downtown ABQ in this shot looking SSW

Eddie Clements from CO

The North Gravel Pit... I counted over 130 balloons inflating here in one photo!

Balloon Fiesta Park. In the ballooning off-season, it's a driving range and golf academy

Lotta Cars

Me (the unruly back-seat pilot), and Joanne, la 'PIC'

URN... Or cider jug. You make the call!

Directly over the North Gravel Pit

Ray Fournier makes a good drop on the Fly-In task

Lotta Balloons!

I jumped out after landing in the South Gravel Pit... Joanne took off with Keith

No, really - It's Not a Piccard! Check for yourself if you don't believe.

Ron Behrmann's "A Little Exposure"

A little bit o'Deflation?

It's mighty dusty in the gravel pits... The last great unpaved frontier in town

Here's the patchwork Lindstrand again, floating as specified in the type design

Some of our crew helps another balloon pack up

These mischievious little stars make faces when your back is turned

Team Duckie makes a grand entrance

Appears to be a 69k

Look, everybody! It's Joanne's Fan!

Back at Fiesta Park for refueling, and there's still activity
